Tour de Meers 2012

If you were lucky enough on your ride you might see a few bull elk.

Each year the Meers Volunteer Fire Dept. puts on a bike ride; the Tour de Meers.  This year it meant a little more to most residents of the area.

Along with our ride, we sold t-shirts to raise money for the MVFD.
The smiling Boy Scouts helped us out too.
John horsin' around with them. =)

This map is the daily progression of the fire that took 11 homes and burned 39 thousand acres. Sept. 2011

A few photographic reminders were displayed.
Ken and John waiting for daylight.
Maps for the bike riders. Several routes were available.
Checking in!

They were lining up for take-off with the beautiful backdrop of the Wichitas.
A BIG THANKS goes out to many!  Chief Bill, MaryRuth, Cindy, John, U2-Ranch hands and many, many more. I can't even begain to name them all .  It takes a village to organize the TdM.

We had our kiddos riding with babies in tow.  Tanner, Taylor & Aly.  You guys make us so PROUD!
Coming home.
Here's our kiddos all lined up and ready to roll!
Our Chief Bill with his right hand women, Ms. MaryRuth.

At 87 years old, Bob Lucas is my hero.  Riding once again the TdM. =)

awe my friend, what great pictures, an amazing site to see all the bikers as they head out, brought a tear to my eye to see such a strong gathering of support for such a good cause..... I know you and Ken worked hard but I know the joy it gave to support the local fire department and see your family participate as well..... only wish I could have been there too.... bunches of love to all
