Becky's Birthday

When we got home from climbing Mt.Wheeler, Ken had cooked elk, buffalo and beef burger for tacos. He had the food ready to go so we could continue our party. Thank you honey you're the best!

Moxy went to sleep while watching out the window for my return.
Here we are 6:00 am. Saturday morning leaving the house for our trek up Mt. Wheeler. Becky,,, YEAH!!
Aly and I just before we left.
Becky's BDC. Aly made it look incredible, and it was carrot cake too. Yummmmm!
The finishing touches.
Fred had a heel spur on his foot and was in PAIN.. Only way I new it, was because on our way down the mountain he decided to soak it in the cool lake water.
Tanner and Aly.
This picture of Aly shows how beautiful it is from the top.
Again as always my pictures are out of order. Carol and Becky enjoying the evening party that was a surprise too.
Becky's Dad, Bill, who is loving life every minute of the day.
Barb Nelson and others took hundreds of pictures. This one is worth a smile..:)
Our journey upward!
There were no one place for my eyes to rest. The view of the mountains and valleys went on forever.
A Marmot.
Hank, Carol's sweetie, made sure that Carol and I were going to make it to the top... His famous words were. "Just a little bit further".
Carol and Hank, what fun we all had.
Me and Captain. Aly had bought booties for Captain for the long hike to help protect his feet and it worked. For some reason Captain hung with me most of the time,, I wondered if he knew something that I didn't. Like maybe I was going to croak or something on the mountain. LOL
One of the many paths we took.
Becky had no idea that once to the top of the mountain, a huge banner wishing her a happy birthday signed by her son Stephen, who couldn't be with us was awaiting her. Another tearful surprise!
Carol had an apple core to leave behind for the fat happy chipmunks that would rob your backpack if you weren't looking.
Again we have hundreds of pictures. Jeff takes one of Aly, the brilliant surprise party planner...:)

Tanner and Ken on Greenie Mt

The mountains of New Mexico are a cool place to be, especially when it's summertime in Oklahoma.
Tanner and Ken with both dogs went for a 35 mile adventure on the Rhino up into the mountains. What a beautiful place to be.
Gotta love the self timer on a camera..:)
Tanner playing around. The day we arrived at Red River, Tanner and Jeff had rode bikes around the enchanted circle which is a 84 mile ride up and down mountains.
Mushrooms were brightly colored and plentiful.
Having fun!
(((( ALVIN )))) the chipmunk..
Life is good!
Captain Cool...:) Looks like ChewBaka.
Great way to spend the day!

Let's Cool off in Tin Cup, CO.

Camping in the Rio Grand valley was breath taking. It rained almost every evening but we rode the rhino over the mountains and thru the hills anyway. We got wet a few times, real wet.

Can you see the pot of gold?
Our view from inside the camper.

We were muddy from head to toe. We spent nine days without electricity. It was GreATE! Every evening we played cards and enjoyed the cool weather.

Moxy and I taking a walk.

Aspens were beautiful!

Look closely! I found an antler. I just couldn't get to it, because it was on the other side of the river. :(
We saw a nice cave beside the creek we fished.
Because of all the rain, mud slides had some of the roads closed.
So, we walked many miles fishing small rivers and streams for trout.
We would wake up in the mornings and it would be 44 degrees in the camper....ahhh!!!
Tin Cup was a beautiful place to visit out in the middle of nowhere.
The view coming into Tin Cup.
Getting ready to go trout fishing.
Moxy wore Ali's neoprene vest, which was really big on her.
Ken getting out the cards to play rummy. We had so much fun!
Can you find the flower smiling at you?
Campfire felt good in the evenings as the temp. would drop.
Flowers along the divide.

We would fix a picnic lunch, leave early in the morning and be gone all day riding and fishing! I loved it!!! :)

Ken fished for trout at Willow Creek. He also has Moxy's attention..:)
I wasn't much in tune with the fly rod so I stayed with my spinning tackle.

Moxy waded all the creeks and rivers with us. Here she is tuckered out.
