Tanner his Bow and the Bison

Tanner sighting in his bow before the bison hunt.
Dad says bullseye. Ready to go...
The bison see Tanner and camera crew, then decide to run.
Bison are spotted again.
Tanner made the perfect shot at twenty five yards with his bow.
We are very fortunate to be able to harvest our own meat from our ranch. Deer, elk and bison.
This bison will feed our families. It will hang for about ten days then everyone will gather here at the house and we'll bone out the bison, cut steaks, cut fillets, separate the hamburger meat, then grind the hamburger meat, vacuum pack it and put it away.
It is a blessing to have raised our kids on wild game free of hormones.
We are proud of our boys because they realize the importance of harvesting and aging of the animal and the gift that it gives us.
Tanner said as soon as he shot the bison, it bent down to eat and then just laid down. Perfect shot!
Shooting a animal with a bow is quite an accomplishment.
Having the tractor makes it much easier to load and hang.
Ali was so happy she could go. After things settled down she wanted out.
Tanner helped her out of the truck. She is still having a hard time jumping up and down.Happy dog now...;)
Our friend Jim was here to help out.Tanner got a real feel for just how big a bison is.

We are grateful for this day and blessed for the meat that will fill our bellies.
